iGrad, the innovative financial literacy educator, has partnered with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) to offer the Enrich Financial Wellness platform to their students and professionals in order to combat the overwhelming student debt most adopt to pursue their passion.
Today’s physical therapists are contending with a student debt level that affects both their own career, and the profession in general, according to an article in PT in Motion entitled, “Financial Literacy and the New DPT Grad.” As the minimum requirement for a physical therapy degree has risen to require a doctorate-level of study, the amount of student debt increases. Jennifer Rondon, Manager of Business Development with the APTA stated “We’ve seen a wide variety of debt loads that students are carrying. It’s not unusual for them to carry $50,000 to $100,000 of debt.” With more students and professionals acquiring substantial debt, the APTA felt compelled to explore solutions to ease the strain of student debt on their practitioners.
Enrich Financial Wellness was chosen by the Board of Directors, as the ideal online financial wellness platform to respond to their profession’s needs. Since its launch earlier this year as a complimentary service for APTA members and non-members, over 600 users have increased their financial knowledge by 27%. A review on the APTA student blog gave the platform a glowing report. Rondon maintains the universality of the Enrich platform as a major selling point, “While the platform is not just for students, we realize students really need to have this education sooner than later.” She continued, “Our intent for this platform was to help grow financial literacy for anyone at any time in their career.”
Enrich Financial Wellness won over the Board and a Student Task Force with the platform’s variety of content, engagement and intuitiveness while providing an award-winning financial literacy education. Rob LaBreche, CEO, appreciated the proactive approach the APTA was taking to combat student loan debt, “Tuition is increasing across the board, but it’s really exciting and motivating to see an association, like the APTA, work to get this knowledge into the hands of their students and professionals. Thankfully, the APTA was able to see the value it offers.” When asked about her feelings about the platform, Rondon quickly responded “Without hesitation we recommend Enrich, and not just on the platform side but also the collaborative relationship we enjoy with the Enrich team.”
